The Tasmanian Building and Construction Industry Training Board (the Board) is the principal adviser to the Minister for State Growth on all matters relating to training and workforce development in the building and construction industry.
The Board also administers the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund which is supported by a statutory levy of 0.2 per cent on building and construction work over a specified value. The purpose of this fund is to provide training opportunities to support skills and workforce development in the industry.
The Minister for State Growth is seeking expressions of interest from, or on behalf of, individuals who wish to be considered for appointment to fill three vacancies, including the position of Chairperson, on the nine-member Board.
Expressions of interest are sought for members with a knowledge and understanding of ‘residential building’ and ‘non-residential building’.
Applicants wishing to apply for the position of Chairperson must be able to demonstrate substantial corporate governance knowledge and experience.
Applicants must state whether they are applying for the position of ‘Chairperson’ or ‘member’. Applicants wishing to be considered for both must submit separate applications.
